This is, far and away, the best answer I've ever heard to the problem of evil. Fr. Hopko doesn't set out to answer that problem (his purpose is just to meditate on what God is saying through the cross), but the impact is marvelous.

I listened to all four today while working today~ just excellent, can't say enough about it. I was encouraged too by his references to believers outside Orthodoxy (Mother Theresa, Francis of Assisi, John of the Cross, Reinhold Neibuhr, that Methodist preacher fellow).
ReplyDeleteIt does seem that he is hardest on the Orthodox Church folks; I can see he expects better from them whether they are monks or priests or parishioners.
Yeah - I love (and listen a lot) to this talk. The story about Mother Theresa is simply breathtaking. What a witness to Christ!
